Scared of something, Odin?

So the other day I was shampooing our carpets. Odin is scared of the vacuum so automatically ran to one of the back rooms. Well, I needed to take a break so I left the vacuum in the middle of the hallway. So about 10 minutes later I called Odin.... nothing. Odin, where are you? Nothing.. so I look down the hallway, and this is what I see........

Come here Odin, come here... it's ok Odi, come here....

Poor lil man.

Gidget

Isn't she adorable? This is Gidget, the newest addition to the Meyer household. She's another rescue from the humane society. Her "brother" Odin has finally warmed up to her and they play more and more every day. I guess I could say I know what it feels like to be a Mother (kind of). Every night I have to put them back to bed about 2 or 3 times. And every morning they come running in our room at 5:15am. Goodbye sleep!

He's One Cool Cat

Awww, doesn't he look precious and angelic? This white "lion" has had a hard life.

I first met Kitty while living in an apartment complex in Memphis. He was a scrawny little guy, with scratches and dirt clinging to him. He had been declawed and couldn't defend himself. Every time I saw him he was beaten up. I started to leave bowls of water by the door then cat food, then treats. One day I came home from work, unlocked my door and in he ran from the bushes! He stayed with me ever since. It's funny cause I have always been more of a dog person. I love all kinds of animals, but have always grown up with dogs.

Kitty took a long time to adjust to his new loving Mother. I was unaware that cats do not require or even want the attention we give to dogs. I remember one day I was sitting on the couch and had him in my arms. He started to struggle and tried to get away from me. As I was turning him around to put him down, he slapped me! It was an actual slapping sound! My friend was with me and almost peed her pants. I couldn't believe it! So for the next few months we would just walk by each other, say our hellos and keep our distance. Little by little he started showing more emotion. He would sleep cuddled by my legs at night or jump on my lap while I was watching tv. He has really come around. Now he lets me pick him up and hug him, give him kisses on his head. He kind of rolls his eyes and gives me a "hurry up and get this over with" look.

Little does Kitty know he saved me from depression. I was going through a lot at the time I found him. I am so happy my white lion came into my life. I hope he feels the same.

Trying to beat the camera up!
